Why choose private counselling or psychotherapy?

  • Choosing the therapist that is right for you-

There are many different types of therapies out there, however the evidence shows the most important part of coming to see a counsellor or psychotherapist, is the relationship. Finding someone who you feel really understands you is important. That is why I offer an introductory meeting session before we commit to working together.

  • Choosing the time slot that is right for you-

There is far more flexibility when choosing a time slot with. It is possible to slot coming to your appointment into your life, rather than moving things around to make it fit. I am able to offer day time and evening appointments to accommodate your other commitments and can either offer a set time and day each week, or we can find a time each week that suits us both.

  • Why wait on a list?-

If you’re considering counselling or psychotherapy, it might feel like there is a sense of urgency around wanting to talk to someone soon. Usually I would be able to see you for an initial meeting within 1-2 weeks, based on availability.

What is different about me?

  • The therapy I offer is tailored to you and my aim is to provide space to focus on you.

  • I am flexible with appointment times and do not ask you to commit to the same time each week, although this is something I can provide if requested.

  • As long as I have 24 hours notice, I do not charge a cancellation fees, or for planned missed sessions.

  • No limited sessions- I work on an open ended basis, meaning we can take time. Equally I do offer short term work where appropriate. This would be a minimum of 8-12 sessions together (agreed at the start of our work).
